Local golf pro wins regional tour stop

The annual Lower Mainland Assistants golf tour, featuring some of B.C.’s top professionals, teed off at the Whistler Golf Club on June 25. The sun was out, but the wind played spoiler and complicated club selection for most of the day.

Jeff Buder from Fraserview Golf Club carded a three under 69 to take the first place cheque. Richard Leisen, formerly of Burnaby Mountain, was second by one stroke. The Whistler Golf Club’s own Alan Kristmanson finished third with a one under par 71.

The next stop on the tour is at Swan-E-Set Resort on July 9. The Tour Championships will take place in September at the Capilano Golf Club.
