In the snowboarding 13 and under race, Whistler Valley Snowboard Club phenom Vinny Ligeti took the top spot easily with a score 19.4 points. His second best run, a 17.6, would also have earned him the top spot.

Jamie MacFarlane was second with a 16.7, and Tylor MacMillan third with a 15.7.

The Junior Girls 14 to 16 category went to Sarah Kopinya, another WVSC rider, who finished nearly five points ahead of the rest of the field with a 23.4. Katelyn Scott was second with a 17.9, and Laura Woerlee third with a 13.7.

The Junior Boys winner was Andy Clark with a 24.6. WVSC rider Tyler Quarles was a close second with a 22.7, while Marc Mains was third with a 17.9.

The Senior Boys went to Japan’s Mikyawaki Kentaro, who edged past Whistler’s Crispin Lipscomb by one-tenth of a point with his score of 25.8. Dan Raymond finished in third with a 23.3.

Only seven skiers came out, which is down from the first competition, but more two-plankers are expected for the Sprite Park Rider Series snowcross on Feb. 9.

In the Junior Ski Open for ages 17 and younger, Austrin Ross took the top spot with a score of 16. Adam Joubert and Kye Petersen tied for second with 15.7 points each, and Mike Klinkhamer was third with a 7.7.
