A Sea to Sky ultimate team composed of Pemberton, Whistler and Squamish players put in a solid Halloween weekend at the Pumpkin Pull Ultimate Frisbee tournament in Victoria this past weekend, which attracted 26 west coast teams from as far south as Oregon and as far north as Alaska.

Team Ballzdeep brought a squad of 12 men and seven women to the co-ed tournament.

Things got underway on Saturday, Oct. 29 with a respectable showing in the round robin, with Ballzdeep winning two out of five games. That was good enough to be seeded in the middle of ‘B’ pool, between A and C, for the playoffs on Sunday.

In the quarter finals Ballzdeep faced the Vincibles from Seattle, who were seeded third overall and beat Ballzdeep the day before.

Ballzdeep took that game 13-10, moving into the semifinals where they faced a team called Colony from Victoria, who played pretty well in their Amish outfits.

Ballzdeep finished the day in third place, the best finish for a Sea to Sky team ever in a tournament.
