Long time volunteer needs a helping hand.

One of Whistler’s all-time great volunteers, Sonya McCarthy, needs a little help from her friends.

She recently fell and broke her ankle and has been unable to do all the things she needs to, to get by.

You can help by dropping a few coins in the jar at Moguls coffee shop or donating to account #36453905 at the North Shore Credit Union.

Many know McCarthy for her endless work at Chamber of Commerce, the Community Arts Council, the Children’s Art Festival and as the first women’s Lion of the Year. She was also director of the Lions Club.

She has also won the Golden Outstanding Volunteer Award as a representative of the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Her accomplishments and contribution to the community are many.
