Lundy hired as interim GM of MY Place

Louise Lundy, past president of the Whistler Chamber of Commerce and executive director of the Whistle Blackcomb Foundation, has been hired as interim general manager of Maurice Young Millennium Place.

The Maurice Young Millennium Place Society made the announcement Monday afternoon. Lundy will temporarily fill the vacancy left by the departure of Dennis Marriott. Marriott is to become the food and beverage manager of Whistler's Olympic athletes' village.

"We are very pleased that Louise has agreed to fill the position of General Manager of MY Millennium Place on an interim basis," said MYMP Society Chair Sue Adams. "Louise has a strong network within the community and experience establishing partnerships. Her strong leadership skills and extensive management experience in corporate and non-profit organizations are going to be very beneficial as we review the operations and future opportunities for MY Millennium Place."

In addition to taking responsibility for managing all aspects of the building facilities, Lundy will conduct a formal operational review in collaboration with other stakeholders and provide recommendations to the MYMP Society board.

Lundy left her position as president of the Whistler Chamber of Commerce last September to spend more time with her husband and horses. She had been president for approximately two and a half years.

Prior to living in Whistler, Lundy spent four years running the human resources & corporate services department for one of the world's largest shipping companies and nine years as a facilities and personnel manager at an international employee benefits consulting firm in Vancouver.
