Luscious ladies looking to lasso locals

Five luscious ladies are looking to lasso locals for the Kidney Foundation of Canada, B.C. Branch.

The Kidney Foundation is holding its annual Western-Theme RoundUp on Thursday, June 2 (9 a.m.-7 p.m.) at the Longhorn Saloon in Whistler. The Kidney Foundation depends on this event to fund much needed patient services and on-going research programs.

It is estimated that 145,000 British Columbians have undiagnosed chronic kidney disease. Almost 300 British Columbians are waiting for a transplant and only 12 per cent of the B.C. population has registered as organ donors. Dramatically improved treatment like dialysis, transplantation and anti-rejection drugs are helping patients cope better and live longer, these are only treatments, not a cure.

The event organizers are looking for volunteers who will spend one hour of their time in a mock jail at the Longhorn. You will be arrested at your place of work and when you arrive, the judge will hear your case. You are guilty as charged and will be given a stiff sentence by the Hangin’ Judge. You will have one hour to call you friends, co-workers and family for bail money.

If you can spare one hour of your day in jail, as an on-site volunteer, or help out with donations, please call Heather at 604-898-2624; cell 604-935-9318 or e-mail: R4Rwhistler@gmail.com. This is going to be a super fun day raising much needed money for the Kidney Foundation!
