One of Whistler’s best know real estate agents, Maggi Thornhill, has opened her own boutique-style office, the Thornhill Real Estate Group.
Previously with Sea to Sky Premier Properties, Thornhill and her team of real estate professionals will offer service “above and beyond anything currently found in the Whistler area.” Handyman services, transportation, concierge service and a moving vehicle are just a few of the time-saving and valuable resources that will be provided by the Thornhill Real Estate Group, headed by Bob Daniels as acting broker.
The company’s office is in Franz’s Trail at Creekside.
Thornhill started working as a realtor in 1989 and has for
years been one of Whistler’s top selling real estate agents.
WB Foundation awards $50,000
The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation has awarded a grant of $50,000 to the Squamish Health Care Foundation to support the purchase of surgical equipment for the Squmaish Hospital.
The funds, which were raised at the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation’s 12 th annual Telus Mountain Valley Golf Classic in September, will be matched by the Squamish Health Care Foundation.
The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation has also announced that after
four years as the Executive Director and nine years involvement
with the foundation, Mei McCurdy is taking a one year leave of absence. In
her place, Kasi Lubin has taken over as the Interim Executive
Director. Lubin co-founded the Whistler Film Festival and has worked on
various events and projects for many local organizations, such as
the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival, Whistler Arts Council,
Maurice Young Millennium Place, and the Whistler Chamber of Commerce.
Fine joins roundtable
Robert Fine, who previously worked for the Sea to Sky Economic
Development Commission, has joined the provincial government’s Small Business
Roundtable.
Rick Thorpe, Minister of Small Business and Revenue and
Minister responsible for Regulatory Reform, announced the addition of Fine to
the board on Nov. 2.
"Robert's broad economic development experience and
diverse business
background will
ensure a strong voice for the Okanagan on the Small
Business Roundtable," said Thorpe. "His energy,
passion and optimism for
small
business will be valuable assets to the roundtable."
Fine is currently the executive director of the Economic Development Commission in the Regional District of Central Okanagan. He holds a degree in Urban Economics from the University of Toronto. Fine has lived in B.C. since 1989. He left the Sea to Sky corridor in 1996.
