The Wish is the Vibe Dance Centre's seasonal celebration of music and movement.

Jeremy Thom, co-owner and administrative director, says this year's show is about compassion.

"It's in the spirit of the season, of kindness and giving," he says.

"We're busy with the rehearsals and a lot of different things and it's good."

Forty-five youngsters aged six to 17 are part of the Vibe Tribe Dance Team this year.

"Heather (Thom, his wife and co-owner) and the dancers put it together in two weeks and it's an amazing story with acting and fun for the whole family," Thom says.

The Wish has jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and acro dance put together as one story, written by the couple.

"It's interesting, two creative people bouncing ideas back and forth. Things tend to change quite a bit as we go," Thom says.

The Wish takes place at the Whistler Conference Centre on Saturday, Dec. 19 and Sunday, Dec. 20. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets $10 for children (12 & under) and $15 for adults, and can be purchased cash only at the door on the night of the performances.

The local singers who use music to bring to life the Little Drummer Boy and Santa are ready for five events this Christmas.

"People are often looking for ways to celebrate the season," says organizer Alison Hunter.
