Making history at Dubh Linn Gate

The Whistler Museum and Archives will be holding a fund-raising event at the Dubh Linn Gate on Thursday, Oct. 25 to celebrate Local History and to raise funds for programs, exhibits and to care for the collection of community history.

Tickets for the event, available at the Whistler Museum and Archives, are $20, which includes a buffet dinner, a pint of beer, entertainment and entry into a raffle with lots of great prizes.

Doors open at the Dubh Linn Gate for the event at 7 p.m. Dinner will be served starting at 7:30 p.m. Live entertainment will by supplied by local musicians.

As a community museum and archives the Whistler Museum and Archives Society relies on donations and local help to maintain its programs. The society’s vision for the future includes a new building, expanded programs, and more exhibits.

The Whistler Museum and Archives is actively collecting memorabilia, photographs, and other important materials relevant to the history and development of Whistler from interested individuals, families and businesses. Bring in your donations anytime to create a fonds (collection) in your family or business name which will ensure the preservation of your memories, experiences, and legacy for researchers and future generations of the community.
