The RCMP was called to a shared residence in the 2200-block of Brandywine Way on June 29 at 4:18 p.m. to investigate a call from a resident who said his roommate had vandalized the common area of their home, and broken into a third resident's room, stealing a computer, and "trashing" that room.
Statements were obtained and police observed a hole in one door.
Investigators also believed this incident was related to an earlier call about a man walking down Brandywine Way, holding a knife. Police located that man on Alpha Lake Road and later identified him as the suspect roommate. He had been seen, knife in hand, walking the Valley Trail between Bayshores and Creekside in Whistler.
The man, a 26-year-old Whistler resident, was remanded in custody, and went to court on July 3 in North Vancouver to face charges of mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Pemberton teen shot by airsoft gun
A 15-year-old Pemberton youth shot another 15-year-old Pemberton youth six times with an airsoft gun, which fires plastic BBs, outside a fast food restaurant in the village on June 29 at 9:30 p.m.
Officers located the suspect at the skateboard park and arrested him, charging him with assault with a dangerous weapon. He was released to his parents with a promise to appear and an undertaking with conditions not to contact the victim, who was known to him.
The victim reported he had been inside the fast food restaurant and was told to come outside, once he did so the suspect allegedly shot him. The victim cut his elbow, but had no other injuries.
Three drivers clocked at 160 km per hour on Hwy 99
An unmarked police vehicle observed three fast-moving vehicles northbound on the Sea to Sky highway at Daisy Lake Dam at 4:36 p.m. on June 26.
The officer clocked the trio driving at speeds between 140 and 160 km per hour in a posted 80 km zone and followed them; two of the cars had British Columbia license plates, the third had plates from Washington State.
The officer radioed ahead and police at Whistler Creekside stopped the cars. A 58-year-old Whistler man, a 36-year-old Vancouver man, and a 36-year-old man from Anchorage, Alaska, were given violation tickets for excessive speed. Their vehicles were impounded for seven days.
RCMP investigate woman's screams in Kadenwood
Police were called in after reports of a woman screaming for help near the 2900-block of High Point Drive in Kadenwood on June 27 at 9:29 p.m. Police attended with a police dog and infrared viewing equipment and conducted a search of the area, after the report said the screams sounded like they had originated near the Kadenwood Gondola.
Police searched by vehicle and on foot under the gondola and around the ski trails Nothing was found. A patrol was made the next day in daylight hours, but it also failed to turn anything up.
