Man dies in treewell 


A 22-year-old man died after apparently falling into a treewell on Whistler Mountain Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred near tower 17 of the Garbanzo Chairlift. Ski patrol members and a doctor attended the scene but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

At press time the victim’s identity had not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
