Whistler RCMP is on the lookout for three unidentified assailants believed to be responsible for attacking a man at a village nightclub on Jan. 6.

The alleged victim attended the detachment to report that the unknown males assaulted him the night prior, using beer bottles to strike him on the head and face. He sustained a cut to the back of his head that required four staples, as well as a wound over his left eye that required three stitches.

Although an eyewitness reported seeing the incident, the description of the men was vague. They were identified as being Caucasian males, and approximately 1.8 metres (six feet) tall.

The investigation is ongoing.

Man assaults, forcibly confines girlfriend, police say

A 40-year-old man from New Westminster could face multiple charges after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and drove her to an isolated area of Pemberton against her will, police said.

On Jan. 7, RCMP said the suspect committed an assault at a Whistler hotel, forcibly confining his girlfriend "by picking her up by the hair, forcing her into his truck and driving her to a remote area of Pemberton," Staff Sgt. Steve LeClair said.

The man was in breach of parole by being in contact with the alleged victim relating to a domestic assault that took place Dec. 19, police said. He had also sent the woman over 100 text messages the day of the reported assault.

Officers made extensive efforts to locate the suspect, LeClair said, eventually tracking down and seizing his vehicle. He was subsequently arrested in the Lower Mainland.

LeClair said police are still determining what charges will be laid.

Alleged domestic assault leads to breach of probation for male

On Tuesday, Jan. 13 police were dispatched to a Pioneer Street residence in Pemberton after a report of a verbal domestic dispute.

After attending, police learned that a man who had allegedly been arguing with his mother at the time was on conditions not to be in contact with the female complainant.

He was arrested for breach of probation and held for court.
