A local woman believes she was drugged while ringing in the New Year at a Creekside bar.

On Jan. 2, Whistler RCMP received a report from the female stating that her drink may have been spiked while she left it unattended. She told police her intoxication level was “inconsistent with the amount of liquor that she consumed,” according to a release.

The woman was eventually ushered home by friends who were able to care for her.

Mounties are reminding members of the public to “never leave their drinks unattended, do not take a drink that you did not see poured or opened in front of you and to stay with friends and watch out for each other.”

Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a pair of skis that were reportedly stolen near a village business last week.

On Jan. 3, Whistler RCMP was tipped off to the theft from outside a business in the 4100 block of Springs Lane. The caller said the incident occurred sometime around 11 a.m. on Dec. 28. It’s unclear why the complainant waited nearly a week to report the theft.

The skis are described as limited edition Atomic B5 carver skis, gold, brown and black in colour, and 164 centimetres in size.

The public is advised to relay any relevant information to the Whistler RCMP or Sea to Sky Crime Stoppers.
