Marriott replaces Schwartz as MY Place GM

The board of directors for the Maurice Young Millennium Place Society has announced the appointment of Dennis Marriott as the organization’s new general manager.

Marriott takes over from Rob Schwartz as general manager of MY Place.

Marriott has been a resident of Whistler since 1996, when he held the position of general manager of food and beverage operations for Whistler-Blackcomb. Most recently he worked for Intrawest’s Leisure and Travel Group as manager of revenue systems.

His experience includes a position as consulting general manager for the Picasso Café in Vancouver, an initiative of the Option Youth Society to provide restaurant training for 18-24 year old youth at risk.

Marriott will begin his work at MY Place on Nov. 15.
