Treetops fifth full of local flavour
What:
The Main Event Snowboard Video PremiereWhere:
GarfinkelsWhen:
Wednesday, Oct. 8. Doors at 9 p.m. film starts at 10:30 p.m.Tickets
: $5 & $7Theres no better way to get stoked up for the snowboard season than checking out one of the new videos. The coolest parts often involve the familiarity of watching a Whistler guy or girl represent.
When the film is a local production, that stoke factor goes through the roof, so Whistler snowboarders will want to make sure to be around for the release of Treetop Films fifth offering, The Main Event. Directed by Rick Johnston, the majority of the cast is from the area. Look for sick segments from Shandy Campos, Tosh Osaka, Mike Osachuk, Rube Goldberg, Mike Turner and more.
The evening will also have a bonus screening of Treetop editor Lauren Grahams independent production Shot in the Dark . The 12-minute all girl snowboard film features several local riders including Victoria Jealouse, Leanne Pelosi, Priscilla Levac, and Susi Davis, all wrapped up in Grahams cool street aesthetic.
Tickets are $5 in advance from any of the local snowboard shops, or $7 at the door. Films start at 10:30 p.m.
