Millennium Place planning arts series

As the opening date for the Maurice Young Millennium Place finally draws near, volunteers are needed to help organize the facility's arts events.

MY Place general manager, Rob Hallam, says community input is vital for the success of the centre. Hallam is seeking to ensure that the programs generated are what Whistler wants. Hallam hopes the programs traditionally generated by the Whistler Arts Council will expand to include everything MY Place has to offer.

But Hallam says the additional programming requires additional manpower to help offset the risk and work levels. Presently, work is underway to bring in series in classical, folk, bluegrass, film, dance and more. Hallam would like to see committees established for each genre. Interested members of the community can contact Hallam at 905-4211.
