Miller’s 54th film includes tribute to snowboard legend

Ski-film pioneer Warren Miller’s 54 th feature film Journey will screen this Sunday and Monday evening at MY Place. The film follows 73 elite skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers and 19 film crews in countless locations on four continents.

Ski-film pioneer Warren Miller’s 54 th feature film Journey will screen this Sunday and Monday evening at MY Place.

The film follows 73 elite skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers and 19 film crews in countless locations on four continents.

Journey features legendary older riders such as skier Glen Plake and snowboarder Terje Haakonsen, alongside a crop of new school legends in the making such as skiers Candide Thovex and CR Johnson and snowboarder Heikki Sorsa.

The film also includes a tribute to legendary snowboarder and mountain guide Craig Kelly, who fell victim to a massive avalanche in the mountains near Revelstoke last January. A longtime rider for Miller, the segment is a compilation of clips from his years of filming with Warren Miller camera crews.
