The library is excited to offer its very first MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) in partnership with the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre (SLCC). The eight-week course is Indigenous Canada, offered by the University of Alberta. This course explores key issues facing Indigenous peoples today from a historical and critical perspective, highlighting national and local Indigenous-settler relations. Participants will meet once a week at the SLCC for a two-hour session, where we'll watch a video provided by the professors and then spend the remainder of the session discussing what we learned. This course is free to attend, but space is very limited. Registration opens on October 2, so call 604-935-8435 or email publicservices@whistlerlibrary.ca to claim your spot. Participants are expected to attend all eight weeks of the course!
