Mounties make $220K Pemberton pot bust

After receiving a tip from a concerned resident, the Whistler-Pemberton RCMP launched an investigation into an alleged grow operation on the 1400 block of Lupin Road in Pemberton.

Both the Vancouver RCMP and Tribal Police were involved in the investigation.

In the late evening of Saturday, Nov. 13, the RCMP executed a search warrant on the home and discovered a large scale operation with over 340 plants. One of the two males in the residence attempted to flee the scene, but was caught by officers.

Two males have been charged, a 31 year old from Cloverdale and a 29 year old from Surrey. Both were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Production of a Controlled Substance, and will make their first court appearance on Jan. 20, 2005 in Pemberton Provincial Court.

Names will be released once the charges are formalized.

Squamish RCMP respond to armed robbery

The Squamish RCMP are looking for the public’s assistance in tracking down a suspect in an armed robbery in the early morning hours of Nov. 15.

According to the RCMP, the male entered the store and was purchasing items at the check-out when he pulled out a weapon and demanded money. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

The RCMP received the call at 1:15 a.m.

The suspect is described as being approximately 20-30 years old, approximately 5’3" and skinny. He had slightly darker skin, and was wearing a dark T-shirt, dark vest and a dark hat backwards.
