Colorado Ski Country USA’s 25 member resorts have invested a record $157 million in capital improvements for the 1998-99 season. Nearly $102 million in improvements were made to on-mountain infrastructure, while $55.5 million has been invested in facilities such as lodging and other base-area developments. Last year, the resorts spent $122.5 million on improvements; in 1996-97 the figure was $100 million. Intrawest has invested $24 million CDN in capital improvements on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains this year.
