Municipal surveys underway

Mustel Group conducting phone, in-person interviews as part of monitoring program

The Resort Municipality of Whistler began its fourth annual survey of residents and second homeowners on Jan. 24 as part of the Whistler2020 monitoring program.

Survey questions focus on resident satisfaction with services, community decision making, community life, budget priorities, taxation, and communications.

A random sample of residents and second home owners will be surveyed by telephone, and seasonal residents may be surveyed in person in the Village, Creekside, and Nesters.

The survey is one component of this year’s budget consultation process and part of the ongoing community monitoring process. Survey results will measure the community’s performance and progress towards community, economic, and partnership priorities identified in Whistler2020, the community’s vision and comprehensive sustainability plan.

This year’s survey will take place from Jan. 24 to Feb. 6 and will be conducted by the Mustel Group, a market research group, which has been responsible for a number of previous Whistler community surveys. All participants will remain anonymous and individual responses will be treated as confidential.

Results of the survey will be presented at the end of February and data from the survey will be used to help inform council’s decision making about the 2009 municipal budget.
