Museum to close its doors

Will reopen in 2009 in former library space

The Whistler Museum as we know it is dead. Long live the Whistler Museum.

The facility will close its doors on Feb. 22, following the Feb. 21 screening of Made In Whistler, a look at some of the amazing kids that have grown up in the community.

After the doors close, staff will work to renovate the old library space to accommodate the museum’s collection – including a brand new exhibit on Whistler’s Journey to 2010. The museum will reopen in February 2009.

However, although the museum’s doors are closed, staff will continue to provide services such as photo reproductions, research requests, summer programs and tours. For more information visit
