Rock Visionary Perry Farrell is coming to Garfinkel’s Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Tickets are not yet on sale, but you don’t need to listen to the mystical soundscapes of Farrell’s The Diamond Jubilee to predict a sellout for a rare show from the ex-leader of Jane’s Addiction.
The mastermind behind the Lollapalooza festival morphed through different bands and as a solo artist, including time as frontman for Jane’s Addiction, Psi-com and Porno for Pyros. He is most famous for his work with Jane’s Addiction, the band’s music playing a key role in the alternative music scene in the 1980s and ’90s. Songs such as Jane Says and Been Caught Stealing were rock classics.
Jane’s Addiction disbanded twice, once in 1991 and then in early 2004, but not before recording their final studio album, Strays , which included the hit Just Because.
Rising from the ashes, Farrell formed a new band/theatrical entity called The Satellite Party, which debuted at Lollapalooza 2005. The Best of Jane’s Addiction is also scheduled for release in the early New Year.

Artful approach to music
The Brackendale Art Gallery plans a mixed palate Sunday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. at the make-shift theatre located just outside Squamish.
Join pianist Jack Velker and artist Michael Malcom for the Wet Paint Party, with Velker’s keys inspiring Malcom’s brush.

The Mixologists duo that give crowds the option of hip hop or drum ’n’ bass sets or both for Ill Out Monday, Jan. 23 at Garfinkel’s.
The 2000 and 2001 DMC UK Team Champs began as a four-turntablist team in 1999. Only one year on the battlefields, the team placed third at the DMC UK Team Championships, won the European ITF Championship and came runner up in the World ITF Finals in Hawaii. After winning the 2000 DMC UK Team Championships and placing third in the DMC World Team Finals, the four became two, leading to even more wins.
Beni G and Go have toured more than 20 countries across the world with their high-energy sets. The duo has shared stages with the likes of Roy Ayres, DJ Craze, Jazzy Jeff, Killa Kela, and Masta Ace and Mark B & Blade – Beni G was the tour DJ, performing alongside acts such as Eminem, Stereo MC’s, Feeder and Delinquent Habits.
The Mixologists released their first compilation album, Champion Sounds , winning Best Compilation at the Underground Music Awards and Best DJ at the 2004 UMA Awards.
For 2005, Beni G kept busy launching his record label, called Ahead of the Game, with Plus One of Scratch Perverts, while DJ Go focused on drum ’n’ bass signings with Torq Records.
