Who: Blackalicious Big stars meet big air with the hip hop word play team scratching it out for the festival’s signature sporting event, Big Air. Blackalicious has opened for Jazy-Z, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige and Public Enemy. Joined by special guests Lifesavas, Fatlip w/ Omni and Pigeon John. Show rides 8-10 p.m. at the Whistler Concert Series Mainstage.

What: Being Caribou The Vancouver International Film Festival winner is about two environmentalists following a herd of 120,000 caribou on foot across 1,500 kilometres of rugged Arctic tundra to raise awareness of former U.S. President Bush’s intentions to turn the caribou’s calving grounds into an oil-drilling site. Filmmaker and adventurer Karsten Heuer will speak at AWARE’s AGM before the 7:30 p.m. film. Tickets are $5 or $3 for LUNA (ages 18-29) and AWARE members. Don’t miss this incredible tale.
