The 12th annual Music Therapy Ride raised $65,000 on Sept. 14 with over 100 motorcyclists cruising the Sea to Sky highway from Vancouver to Whistler.

In the last dozen years the benefit has raised over $600,000 for the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund. This year, the proceeds went to creating and maintaining mobile recording studios known as Bandwagons. The studios, which contain recording software and musical instruments, are currently being used at the BC Children's Hospital with another traveling unit in use around the province.

"We wanted to develop something that would be more tangible that people could understand," Patrick Zulinov, co-founder of the ride, told Pique earlier this month. "We wanted to create these little mini studios to roll between beds in hospitals... For every $2,500 we raise, that's six weeks of music therapy."

The Vancouver Police Department also escorted riders — which included guest musician Dan Mangan — down the picturesque highway to the after party at the GLC.
