MY Place Winter Over view

MY Place has released the Performance Series for this winter. Five local groups, including the Whistler Arts Council, Alta Lake School.

MY Place has released the Performance Series for this winter. Five local groups, including the Whistler Arts Council, Alta Lake School. The Whistler Singers, the Millennium Rotary Club and Moving Chords Youth Show Choir, have joined forces to each sponsor a series during the winter.

"We decided to come together as a group and work together with the Performance Series in terms of marketing," says Doti Niedemayer, executive director of the Whistler Arts Council.

"This brochure we’ve put together for the entire series is an excellent opportunity to market what is happening at MY place over the next few months, rather than getting five different brochures from five different groups."

The brochure also gives locals an opportunity to plan out over the winter the shows they might want to see and save money by buying a package deal. Last year many shows sold out, including some of the acts that are back again this year. "Everybody prices their own shows, which are often determined by the cost of the artist but we also wanted to have a package deal where people could save some money." Says Niedemayer. "We all participated in the packages because it is an opportunity to see five acts for $75 or three for $50. It’s an incentive for local people to plan ahead and save some money."
