Friends of Neil Falkner will be hosting their annual ski day this Sunday, April 9 on Whistler Mountain. If youre interested in taking part, meet at the light board outside of the Roundhouse at 10 a.m.
That afternoon there will also be a celebration at Dustys, from about 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Its not an official fundraising event for the Neil Falkner Memorial Scholarship, but there will be a display and volunteers will pass a jar around to raise money.
Falkner, a Whistler ski patroller, died on April 12, 2002 while on a seven-day ski traverse in Banff National Park.
Each year the Memorial Scholarship fund sends a Grade 10 student from Neils former high school and a Whistler Secondary School student to Outward Bound, which was a pivotal experience in Neils own life.
