What: Mountainscapes
When: Aug. 15-Sept. 15
Where: Millennium Place
Mountainscapes, a new art exhibit, features the work of Pemberton artists Lynn Pocklington and Karen Love at Millennium Place.
The opening reception is from 7 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 15.
The exhibit runs until Sept. 15, when a new selection of artists will be featured.
The new show was a logical extension of a previous exhibit where Love and Pocklington exhibited at a spec home for sale in Pemberton. They combined the open house, with open art.
"It went really well," says Pocklington.
Pocklington, who moved to the Pemberton Valley in 1992, says breeding horses and experiencing the outdoors have inspired her work in acrylics and a more recent move to watercolours.
The subject of her work is landscapes and animals, with attention to detail. All works at the exhibit are for sale.
Pocklingtons background includes a degree in the Art Program 86 (Commercial Art Option) at Capilano College, followed by ownership of her own graphic design business, Whistler Graphic Designs at Function Junction.
Pocklington also donates paintings to charities, including the Steelhead Society, and the Blackcomb Freestyle World Cup Society.
