In addition to installing parking meters on Main Street, the municipality is introducing new hours for all metered parking lots in Whistler.

Starting on Sept. 27, meters will be monitored from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. This adds another hour to the pay period, but allows free parking for errands until 10 a.m. Previous hours ran from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The parking areas affected include Lot A beside the Whistler Conference Centre, Lot W beside the Westbrook Hotel, Lot V in the Gateway Loop by the taxi stand, the Village Green behind Crystal Lodge, and the new meters on Main Street.

The municipal lots require that you display prepaid coupons in your windshield, which are valid in all lots – if you purchase more time than you need at one lot, you can use that time at another lot.

The other pay parking lots and the Marketplace lot are privately managed and monitored, and municipal coupons are not valid.
