Parents, caregivers and children will be pleased to know that the Library will be offering two new programs effective January 2002.

Our Children’s Librarian, Linda Neumann, will be offering a second pre-school story time. Presently the drop-in story time is on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. The second story time will be on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3-6 years old. This is an opportunity for parents who work during the week to attend the program with their children.

Story time provides an opportunity for child to participate and interact with other children, as well as to learn finger plays, rhymes, songs, and creative movements. It is also an opportunity to develop listening skills and imagination, a love for stories, books, reading and libraries. It is a chance for parents to expand and create learning experiences and it will provide ideas, materials and techniques for use at home.

A completely new program is our Baby Time. This is a time for caregivers to bring their infants, ages 0-18 months, to the library for songs, bounces, and rhymes. The program will take place on Fridays at 9:15 a.m. from February 1 st to 22 nd . Pre-registration is required.

The Library will be closed to the general public during this time, thus ensuring that caregivers not worry about disturbing other library users.
