New school gets principal

Whistler’s new elementary school in Spring Creek may not open until January, 2003, but it will have a principal starting in August. Ron Albertin has been appointed principal of the new elementary school.

Whistler’s new elementary school in Spring Creek may not open until January, 2003, but it will have a principal starting in August.

Ron Albertin has been appointed principal of the new elementary school. Construction is expected to start this spring.

Albertin has been an educator for over 25 years, including six years as principal of Pemberton Secondary School. He is currently the District Administrator of Technology. His new position takes effect August, 2001.

Spring has sprung, and the first flower of the season is the daffodil.

The Canadian Cancer Society will be holding its annual Daffodil Day April 1 st in Whistler. Residents are encouraged to visit Nesters, The Grocery Store or IGA between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. to purchase a fresh flower. The Canadian Cancer Society, B.C. and Yukon Division, is hoping to raise $4 million during it’s April Daffodil Days.
