New season for WOW starts Oct. 3

Women of Whistler (WOW) is beginning their 2007-08 season at La Rúa on Wednesday, Oct. 3 with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m.

Along with the opportunity to network with other amazing women there will be a discussion on Mentorship — how to be a mentor and how to find a mentor.

Most often, a mentor is a more experienced person who acts as a role model, guide or leader. They have experience in an area such as business and share this experience, provide advice and encouragement to the mentee. The mentorship experience is generally an informal relationship between the mentor and the mentee and one that they create themselves to suit their needs.

Bernie Lalor-Morton, Chair of WOW, will provide the details of a successful mentoring relationship, followed by Sue Adams and her recent mentorship experience with a group of local entrepreneurs.

To register contact Taralyn Day at the Whistler Chamber of Commerce, 604-932-5922 Ext.26, or register online at www.whistlerchamber.com .
