Getting ready for China

The world of tourism in the Sea to Sky corridor will be changing in the years to come as Canada gains "approved destination status" with China.

Even without that status yet, there is still a lot of work which can be done to lay the groundwork for future partnerships, such as building relationships and developing cultural ties with China.

Two experts from the University of British Columbia will be coming to Whistler on Wednesday, March 15 to talk about setting the stage for Canada’s new relationship with China. Dan Muzyka and Grace Wong of the UBC Business School have developed major ties with young business leaders in Shanghai and throughout China.

They are coming to talk as part of the Leadership Sea to Sky Forum but everyone in the corridor is welcome to attend. This is a chance for business and non-profit leaders in the Sea to Sky corridor to start thinking about their strategy for the changing tourism market. The talk, entitled Preparing for China in the Sea to Sky, will be held at the Whistler Chamber Boardroom March 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. A $10 donation is suggested. E-mail info@whistlerforum.com to confirm attendance at least three days before the event.
