Council will send a letter to the proponents, Dave and Wayne Babych, suggesting they attend the Town Hall meeting in November and that they submit their application through the normal channels. The proposal was received as a letter to council. Black Tusk Golf Corporation proposes an 18-hole "affordable" golf course and 100 camp sites on land currently owned by the Crown. Black Tusk proposes to lease the land from the municipality. Busy winter? The WRA reports advance winter packages sold by the resort association's central reservations office are up 372 per cent over the same period last year. The WRA has also produced two new winter posters which complement the winter magazine ads. Silver Georgie for Decor Whistler's Decor Interior Decoration Ltd. has been awarded a silver Georgie Award from the Canadian Home Builders' Association of B.C. and the Provincial Housing Awards Committee. The Best Interior Design award is for an interior Decor did in Taluswood. Decor and four other silver award winners are still in the running for a gold Georgie, which will be awarded next week. The Whistler Chamber of Commerce and the local chapter of the Western Business Women’s Association is presenting two business seminars Nov. 1 at the conference centre. The two seminars are designed for smaller or independent business owners. The first is How Come My Income Statement Shows a Profit but I Have No Cash? The second is Marketing Your Small Business on a Budget. Registration is $52 and includes workshops, materials, lunch and reception. Our Lady of the Mountains will hold its third annual fund-raising gourmet dinner this Saturday, Oct. 14 at La Rúa Restaurante. Proceeds will go to the Catholic Community Centre in Whistler, scheduled for completion in 1996. Approximately $550,000 has been received in donations and grants to date, which has been used to purchase the site at the foot of Lorimer Road, architectural and engineering fees and site preparation.
