The Sea to Sky Postpartum Support Network is looking for volunteers to help families experiencing postpartum depression. Volunteers should be prepared to participate in a two-day training session and spend approximately two hours per week providing telephone support to families. Previous experience with postpartum depression is an asset. Hours are flexible and volunteers can work from their home. Anyone in Whistler or Pemberton interested in volunteering should call 932-3202 and leave a message for public health nurse Nathalie Ferlatte. In Squamish call Sheilagh Murray, public health nurse, at 892-3585. The People’s Law School is presenting a free legal seminar on Mortgage Matters, Feb. 25 at the Whistler Public Library. The session, which will deal with practical matters involved in obtaining or renewing a mortgage, will go from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. A minimum of 10 people are required, so pre-registration is required. Call 932-5564 or drop by the library. A complimentary seminar on laser eye surgery will be held at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 25 at the Whistler Eye Clinic. Dr. Karen Smith and Dr. Donna Mockler will answer questions and provide current information on the state of laser eye surgery. Call 932-2600 to register for the seminar.
