Registration for all fall activities will be done at the new Whistler Secondary on Sept. 7. The Strut Your Stuff Community Registration Fair takes place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sept. 7. Organized by Community School Liaison and KidSport Whistler, the registration fair will include everything from gymnastics to skiing to choir. Community groups will be handing out information and registering members for programs and some will be hosting small demonstrations. Local sporting goods suppliers are also being invited to show their equipment and some small, used equipment will be available for trade or re-sale. Whistler Minor Hockey will be hosting a skate and equipment swap. Groups wishing to book space for the fair should go through the Meadow Park Sports Centre; call 938-0113. Pemberton parents of kindergarten students are reminded to bring their children in to the for their 4-6 year booster shot. This immunization will protect children from diphtheria, tetanus (lock jaw), pertussis (whooping cough) and polio. A clinic will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Pemberton Coast Garibaldi Health Unit for those children still need this vaccine. Call 894-6367 for an appointment. The annual Bob Parsons Memorial Golf Tournament is Sept. 21 at the Whistler Golf Course. Entry fee for the tournament, including prizes and a barbecue following the golf, is $80. Proceeds from the tournament go to help junior ski racing in B.C. Bob Parsons was the original Weasel Worker, hand grooming race courses for junior skiers across the province in the 1970s. Several generations of ski racers got their first taste of speed on courses Parsons prepared. The Bob Parsons Memorial Golf Tournament has been organized by the Parsons family for more than 15 years. National ski team member Edith Rozsa is among the list of skiers who have received bursaries from the tournament. For registration call 932-3784 or 932-5819 in Whistler, or 294-1402 in Vancouver.
