Learning for profit The Whistler Chamber of Commerce wants to help small businesses turn the challenge of operating in a mature resort into an opportunity at a workshop, April 29, at the conference centre. The workshop is co-sponsored by the Whistler Resort Association. "Getting together to talk about what works," is the sub-title of the event, aimed at developing a set of blueprints for small business activities and programs that will assist businesses operating under the pressure of the current growth explosion. There is no fee for the workshop. The workshop has a history. The Chamber organized a similar workshop in 1991 at Brew Creek called "The State of Whistler — where do we go from here." Ideas from that seminal meeting became the framework for Chamber planning to the present.
