Local businesses and artists are opening their doors and hearts for charity.
Tonight (Aug. 3), Trinity Productions and the Savage Beagle host Bliss, a night of music, art and dancing for the Zero Ceiling youth outreach program. The evening includes live performances from fire dancers, mural painting, body painting, a fashion show courtesy of Luscious and Fiction with hair by Farfalla. A silent auction featuring such Whistler artists as Pepe and Chili will be ongoing till midnight. Doors open at 10 p.m. Admission is a $20 minimum donation.
Moe Joes will host a similar evening the weekend of Aug. 24 with proceeds going to orphans in Calcutta. Whistler resident, Carmen Gill, will be travelling overseas to the orphanages in the fall and hopes to bring along a Whistler cash donation to help with food and cribs.
Gill is still looking for local artists interested in offering a piece for the nights silent auction. For more information, call 935-0555.
