What: Reggae Night Live reggae grooves with locals Kostaman & DJ Phroh. Doors 8 p.m.

What: Triple Threat Thursdays The inaugural weekly event kicks off with the sensational multi-talented Steve Jiu hosting a competition of turntables, karaoke and open jams for great prizes and entertainment.

Who: Cameron Chu Live jazz, soul and R&B with the house piano man and guests.

Where: Bearfoot Bistro & Champagne Bar

Who: Gordo Plus One Veteran musician covers decades of great roots, blues and rock n' roll with lead guitar from Pierre Eady.

Where: Pemberton Hotel

Who: Guitar Doug The man, the hair, the legend. Doug strums tunes worth a toast of your pint. Apres 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Evening 8 p.m. to midnight.

Where: Dubh Linn Gate Pub

Who: Jack Velker Velker's repertoire features rootsy renditions of popular tunes drawn from jazz, blues, folk and world music. Shows 3:30-5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. to midnight.

Where: Mallard Lounge

What: Rhyme and Reason Learn the art of spoken word and rap at a hip hop workshop hosted by VanCity hip-hop artist Ndidi Cascade as part of the 2006 LUNA program. $5 for LUNA members (ages 18-29) and $7 for non-members. Workshop starts at 8:30 p.m.

CLUBS AND DJs

What: Locals Night Popular party night around these parts with local DJs on the decks.

Where: Garfinkel’s

Who: Kio & Milton Kid Kio drops the beats for apres from 3-9 p.m. DJs Milton and Toddski get the dance floor shaking with funky beat and bass from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Where: GLC

What: Club Shred Weekly rotation of live local musicians play cover favourites. DJ Buddah on deck for apres set.

Where: Merlin’s

What: Party Beats DJ Nooks spins fresh funky house to pack the dance floor weekly. Doors 9 p.m.

Who: Rita Whistler’s blues diva Rita Asfar returns with her finger-picking blues standards and original tunes.

Where: Black’s Pub

What: Last Call Ladies Night Jason Bonnell and his local band is playing all of your favourite cover tunes. No cover for ladies. Doors 8 p.m.

Where: Moe Joe’s

Who: Dr. Dave Acoustic guitar tunes in a cozy local hangout. Evening includes one-time-only Lighthouse Brewery tasting. Show 9 p.m.
