The Canadian sledge hockey team is in a semi-final match up against Germany Thursday, while Norway, which beat Canada 4-1 on Tuesday night, will play the U.S. in the other semi-final. The winners will go on to contest the gold on Saturday night, and the losers will play for bronze.
Norway are the defending world champions in sledge hockey, and it showed in their game against Team Canada. They scored two goals early in the first period, using an everyone-in-but-one system that it took the Canadians a little while to figure out. After that the Canadians beat themselves, taking penalty after penalty. Norway went up 3-0 after one penalty, and although Canada closed the gap with a goal in the second period, goalie Paul Rosen received a double major after straight-arming a Norwegian player with his blocker that Norway used to go up 4-1.
Wednesday was also the last day of the curling round robin, where Canada came out on top with a 5-2 record to get a by to the semi-final.
