NQuatqua Band election April 26

N’Quatqua Band elections will be held Thursday, April 26. At that time band members, both living on- and off-reserve, will have the opportunity to elect half of the current council. First term councillors, Julie Thevarge and Rebecca Barley, are both seeking a second four-year term in office.

Challenging the two incumbents are Ryan Peters Sr., Lisa (Sambo) Roberts, Margaret Gellatly and Karen Thevarge.

The polling station, located at the N’Quatqua Band Office, will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The deaths of three Mt. Currie residents in a motor vehicle accident this past weekend has resulted in the candidate speeches being rescheduled to Tuesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at the N’Quatqua Community Hall.
