$5/Adults, $3/Children, $12/FamilyThe directors rolled into town on Monday, held auditions, rehearsals and dress rehearsals, and tomorrow Missoula Childrens Theatres musical production of The Frog Prince takes the stage at Myrtle Philip Community School.
Teams from the international organization based in Missoula, Montana tour communities with all the props, costumes, makeup and sets needed to stage a full-length musical production. Local children audition to be a part of the 50-60 member cast, rehearse for the next five days and present the musical at the end of the week.
The productions are characteristically modern adaptations of fairy tales. Whistler will see The Frog Prince, the classic story of an opportunistic princess who makes a promise to a homely frog and then tries to go back on her word.
Missoulas appearance in the community is an initiative of the Whistler Arts Council with support from Rainbow Retreats, the Resort Municipality of Whistler, the Province of British Columbia and the B.C. Arts Council.
Tickets are available at the school on performance day. For more information, call 604-935-8419.
