Parent’s Guide for Safer Students coming to WSS

Support available for parents, students going through high school years

The Whistler Alcohol and Drug Committee is presenting The Parent’s Guide for Safer Students, Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Whistler Secondary School.

The evening is billed as an opportunity for all parents of Whistler high school students to meet the resource people in the community who can support both students and parents through the development years.

Representatives from health, community services, the youth centre, RCMP, and drug prevention programs will discuss the obstacles and opportunities unique to Whistler and make supportive parent and community connections to assist them through the high school years.

The evening gets underway at 7 p.m. Come to ask questions. Come to share your knowledge. Come to share your strengths. Come to eat cookies.

The Whistler Drug and Alcohol Committee is a non-profit group in operation for 13 years and is made up of representatives from health services, community services, youth programs, parents, and interested citizens.
