A pair of terrain park rails that were taken from Whistler-Blackcomb on Oct. 22 were returned, which enabled the park staff to go ahead with new projects for the upcoming season.

The first rail was returned at the end of last week with a note that read "Sorry for being such a jerk, I have learned my lesson." The second rail was returned over the weekend.

Whistler-Blackcomb gave the thieves until Nov. 2 to return the rails, no questions asked. After that point they would press charges if the thieves were discovered.

If the rails were still missing, the terrain park staff would have been forced to build replacement rails for the beginner level park on Whistler Mountain, abandoning new projects for this season, including a wall ride for the advanced level park.
