A woman packing to leave a hotel on the 4600–block of Blackcomb Way in the Benchlands reported an indecent act outside her hotel room window on Aug. 4 at 9:18 p.m. She noticed a man outside the bedroom window on a small gravel path staring in at her and masturbating. Her husband went out on the balcony and yelled at the man, who ran away.
The man is described as Caucasian, over 40 years old, 6-ft. tall (1.8 metres) with short grey or blonde hair. He was wearing a khaki shirt and shorts. He also had a large black shaggy dog with him.
ATV accident leads to men falling into Lillooet Lake
Two men on an ATV on the In-SHUCK-ch Forestry Service road ended up in Lillooet Lake after the vehicle was in a collision and slid nine metres down an embankment on Aug. 5. RCMP officers were called at 1:52 p.m. to assist fire and ambulance, and found the two men injured.
The passenger was transported to Vancouver General Hospital with a back injury and possible internal bleeding, while the driver was transported to the Whistler Health Care Clinic for x-rays. The 47-year-old driver, from Surrey, may be charged with driving without insurance. The investigation is ongoing.
intoxication leads to rape fear
The RCMP was called by BC Ambulance on Aug. 5 at 1:52 a.m. and told they were en route to help a 21-year-old woman who may have been raped earlier in the day. But when police arrived they found that the woman had taken MDMA (ecstasy) and had been in the company of a female friend the entire time. The woman had feared someone had slipped a date-rape drug into her drink earlier in the evening, but police believe it more probable that she had reacted to taking MDMA, which she had taken herself.
Tooth found imbedded in smashed vehicle window
Whistler RCMP officers were called to the 6100-block of Eagle Drive on Aug. 5 at 2:40 p.m. to investigate the smashing of the rear window of a vehicle. Nothing was taken and the complainant had no known enemies. There were no suspects. However, what was believed to be a front human tooth was found imbedded in the glass of the broken window.
A neighbour reported hearing someone in the middle of the night saying 'I don't know where I am!' though he heard no glass smashing. Police are investigating.
Antique shotgun stolen in Pemberton break-in
An antique shotgun was stolen from a seasonal residence in the 8500-block of Pemberton Meadows Road after it was reported to the Pemberton RCMP as being broken into on Aug. 4. The break-in at the cabin occurred in the last three weeks with the front door severely damaged in the break-in.Motorcyclist hits Highway median
A motorcyclist was taken by air ambulance to the Whistler Health Care Centre after hitting the south-end median on the Sea to Sky Highway north of the Brandywine Forest Service Road on Aug. 6 at around 1:35 p.m.
The motorcycle appeared to be speeding. RCMP said it lost control and went off the road to the right. The motorcyclist is a 53-year-old Vancouver male. He was conscious when being transported and appeared to have fractures. The highway was closed in both directions while he was airlifted to the healthcare centre.
