Cecile Arnott, director of
finance for the Village of Pemberton, has resigned her post effective June 30.
Arnott is moving to Keremeos where she will be taking the position of town
administrator.
Arnott,
whose background is in public sector finance, joined the VOP staff 18 months
ago. However, taking the job meant a separation from her railway engineer
husband and grown children. Her children and their families have relocated to
Christina Lake, a small community two hours away from Keremeos.
Reached after she tendered
her resignation to council, Arnott was positive about her time in the
community. During her tenure, she served under two administrations, went
through an election, two AGMs and introduced a variety of financial systems.
“I’ve completed everything
that I set out to do here,” she said.
Prior to Arnott being hired
to manage the finances of the village office, that work had fallen to then
administrator Bryan Kirk.
Mayor and council have no
immediate plans to refill the position as per staff recommendation.
Administrator Lori Pilon will be fulfilling the duties of the financial
director.
