Mitch McCullough scored two touchdowns in his final game with the Pemberton Grizzlies, helping the team to a 34-0 romp over the Burnaby Central Wildcats on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Pemberton Meadows Field.

With the victory, the Grizzlies finished their season with a 3-3 record and remained undefeated at home.

"We finally got four quarters of solid football out of the team," said head coach John Burleson. "They were perfect today, gave 100 per cent effort and we were very pleased.

"Without question, this was our most complete game of the season."

McCullough scored a receiving touchdown and returned a fumble to the end zone in the first half, while Eldon Finck took a fumble recovery of his own in for six points as the Grizzlies built up a 20-0 lead at half time.

Dustin Lander then blocked a punt and scooped up the ball in the end zone for a third-quarter score. Quarterback Kex Nelson found Reese Uggeri on an eight-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to cap off the scoring.

Linebacker Zach Moxley said the team was pleased to be able to walk away with a .500 record on the year while keeping Pemberton's perfect home record intact.

"I think for most seniors it meant a lot," said Moxley, one of several players who wonÕt return to the Grizzlies next year. "The younger guys played really well and gave it their all and that really helped us take the victory."

Lander, McCullough, Moxley, Finck, Eduardo Hudson and Aaron Ryan are among the graduating players who suited up for the last time on Saturday.

"Words cannot express how proud I am of them," said Burleson. "We have a very colourful group of seniors and it's going to be a loss for us next year."
