The Pemberton Valley Trails Association and WORCA are inviting bikers, hikers, runners and other users to come out and help clean a winter’s worth of debris from local trails on Sunday, April 18.

According to John Inglis of the PVTA the fall floods and winter storms have made it a bigger job than usual, with a significant amount of blowdown, erosion, and other obstacles.

Able bodies are needed to come out and do brush work, realign trails, help build bridges, and remove fallen trees and branches, as well as participate in other general maintenance projects.

If you use the trail and want to help, meet at the Pony Espresso parking lot at 9 a.m. to start the day with a free pancake breakfast. Bring any tools you have, including loppers, chainsaws, brush saws, pick axes, rakes, shovels, etc.

WORCA will be supplying some tools, but the more the better.

If you have any ideas for specific work projects, call The Pemberton Bike Co. at 604-894-6625.

There will be an Icebreaker Loonie Race and PVTA fundraiser the following Sunday, April 25, to kick off the season. More information will be available in the coming weeks.
