A 28-year-old Pemberton man is facing charges of Armed Robbery after he was arrested in connection with a robbery in Maple Ridge on July 12.

According to reports, the male walked into the Westminster Savings Credit Union on the 22400 block of Lougheed Highway, and passed a note to the teller asking for cash. He was handed an unreleased sum of money and he walked out. He was described as Caucasian, 25 to 35-years-old, five-foot-six to five-foot-eight and about 220 pounds with a stocky build.

A suspect was arrested by Ridge Meadows RCMP on Oct. 5, and released pending an appearance before a justice on Nov. 1. He cannot be named until after his first court appearance.

Corporal Alanna Dunlop, a spokesperson for the Ridge Meadows RCMP, said, "This was a good investigation that has resulted in a criminal charge being laid. Our Street Enforcement unit did some excellent follow-up after the initial investigation by both our uniformed General Duty and the RCMP's Integrated Forensic Identification Section."
