Pemberton organizations celebrate 150 years of service

It’s anniversary time in Pemberton. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #201 turns 60 this year, the Village of Pemberton is 50, and the Lions are 40, for a total of 150 years of service.

To celebrate these milestones, the organizations are coming together to celebrate on the evening of Saturday, June 10. The event is called Happy Days, which will feature the music and comedy of Bernie and Red, as well as slide shows and presentations from the host organizations at Pemberton Secondary School.

Jay Janower from Global TV will be on hand to act as the Master of Ceremonies.

The event gets underway at 5:30 p.m., and following presentations the band Tyme Machine will host the after party. The Laoyam Eagles Dragon Boat Team and Pemberton Fire Department will assist with serving, setup, security and cleanup. Both groups will also be the recipients of funds raised during the evening.

The cost of tickets is $25, which can be purchased at Pemberton Valley Supermarket, the Pemberton Legion and Village of Pemberton. No minors are allowed.
